I was born on the second of July 1968 in Geleen, The Netherlands. A small town in the most southern part of the Netherlands. I lived there untill I started studying Computer Science at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 1986.
As a member of M.C.G.V. Stack, an organisation of computer users, I came in touch with the infinite possibilities which internet (and at first bitnet) had to offer. Since 1986 I've been a member of the executive board for three and a half years, and I have spent my (free) time there as a System Administrator and WWW-administrator of the Stack-systems and as financial manager at the Digital City Eindhoven.
Nowadays I'm a free-lance IT specialist working on all kinds of IT projects.
My hobbies are reading Science Fiction, maintaining the Jack Vance archive, playing (indoor) soccer, (any form of) billiards, table soccer, listening to Queensrÿche and Dream Theater, going out and having a good time whenever possible (which unfortunately is very little due to my workload).
They named cities after me, Remy and St Remy de Provence.
I am naturally present in New York and have my own Fire Department.
And don't forget the Cognac or the trappist beer Rochefort (which is made in the abbey Notre Dame de Saint-Remy!).
